My Okidata 193 (dot matrix) has a Courier 17 cpi (condensed) mode which
prints a very readable text. I would like to find a FONT that mimics
this (readable at 17 cpi) for use in a Windows Printing program. Courier
New at 7 Point is just too small (primrily the height of the character).
I can't find anything on the internet that would be usable. Anyone have
any suggestions?

Check Nina. It was designed by Matthew Carter with hinting by Tom Rickner.

Try looking for monospaced condensed and monospace narrow fonts; also
Typewriter fonts condensed and narrow.

There is a pricey Courier Condensed available as part of a package here:

There's also an old free font named Courier Condensed - but it doesn't
look very condensed to me!

Here are a couple of others I found:

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/paratype/mono-condensed/

http://www.paratype.com/ustore/fonts/URW-Typewriter.htm
